
Nizam Bashir

Nizam Bashir graduated with his LL.B. from Bond University, Australia and was called to the Bar in 1998. He also holds a Diploma in Syariah Law and Legal Practice (DSLP) from International Islamic University, Malaysia and is admitted as well as licensed to practice as a Syariah lawyer in the State of Malacca.
He has been involved in State Bar and Bar Council activities since 2006, serving in various capacities in the Human Rights, Constitutional Law and Legal Aid committees.
He is passionate about the law and has written numerous articles on it including authoring the opening chapter to Breaking the Silence: Voices of Moderation – Islam in a Constitutional Democracy. He also tries to give back to the Bar in various ways including giving talks on legal research and participating as a judge in mooting competitions.
He appears regularly in the media, both in print and broadcast form, and does not shy away from conversing on issues related to the Constitution and those that impact on public interest.
On a non-domestic front, Nizam has spoken at the United Nations Asian and Pacific Meeting on the question of Palestine and participated in various conferences on media freedom, Internet law as well as juvenile justice.

Amer Ashrhaf

Amer Ashrhaf graduated from International Islamic University (IIU), Malaysia and was called to the Bar in 2019 after completing his pupillage with Messrs Abdul Rahman Saad & Associates.
He practised as a lawyer for a number of years in Johor before joining Messrs Nizam Bashir & Associates as a partner.
